right, so basicly. I'm 17, and allergic to cats. i know if a single hair is on me because it itches so badly and its like a differant type of itch. if my face is too near a cats my nose closes up, my eyes get reallllly itchy and uncomfortable and the inside of my throat itches. A couple of years ago, my sister got 2 cats for her birthday.(both male which have even more allergens than females) As you can imagine i was less than impressed but what sister wants, sister gets. I honestly have lost count of how many antihistamine tablets ive had to take. i live in the converted garage which has a catflap ( put in before i moved down here and is always locked) so the cats assume they can wander in as they like, i of course do not appreciate this. The situation wasnt helped by the fact that for the last year the door handle has been broken so doesnt close properly, so the cats easily push the door open. i would wake up in the middle of the night to see the cat trotting into my room. Ive just sorted the door now, so at least they cant get in here most of the time. But now. due to the whole economic downfall, my auntie is having to move in with us ( for the 2nd time!) along with her 3 cats. Safe to say im less than impressed. Last time she lived here there was just the 2, but i would get home from college to find them not only in my room, but climbing all over my furniture, scratching my stuff and shedding hair everywhere. My auntie and her boyfriend practicly see them as their children, so if i so much spoke to the cats in an unfriendly tone. i'd get my head bitten off! So now that they're all due to move in within the month this means 5 cats to deal with. Am i being unreasonable in thinking that A) It's selfish of them to do this to me, they should put the cats in a home for the meantime and B) that my mum never should have got my sister the cats knowing full well im allergic. I feel like the bad guy because my house is swarming with these revolting creatures and im the one whose health and happiness is in jeopardy! what do you all think? Also, sorry for the essay! but once i get started...!
My family and I adopted a puppy that was said to be part Jack Russell and part Chihuahua (both breeds we have experience with). However, after months of observation, we now believe he is also part Corgi. He has been exhibiting some strange behaviour problems and we were hoping for some advice about this. Currently he is approx 6 months old, we have had him for 4 months and we adopted him from the humane society. He is a very smart puppy but we are having a really hard time correcting some of his behaviour. The issues we are having with him are as follows: 1) He howls whenever we leave him alone. He will howl if he cannot see one of us or if we are too far away or just a little ways away and occupied with something else. Or if we put him in his cage. *This howling issue is the worst problem we are having with him.* 2) He still poops in the house if we don't keep a very close eye on him and he sometimes pees in the house too. 3) He will nip and sometimes really bite at our other dog (a pug) who is old and pretty defenseless. 4) He likes to bite our cat too ... sometimes pretty viciously (never drawing blood but the cat doesn't like it). 5) He bites us too and sometimes chews our furniture. Please if you have some suggestions about how to correct his behaviour (especially the howling) we would very much appreciate your suggestions. Is this howling issue just part of the way Corgi's are or could it be a result of him coming from the Humane Society? Do you have any suggestions about how we could work with him to correct the problems we are having? Or any training techniques we could explore? Thank you very much for your advice.
im going to be getting a cat and i've always de-clawed them...i asked a question on here a bit ago asking about prices and i was warned that i would get told off about de-clawing cats and they were right....why is it looked down on? i know that they say the cat could get out...but im not going to let him out i have a three year old son and i don't keep a jacket on him at all times just in case he might go outside when im not looking...don't go out! if there is a reason other then the cat might get out i would like to know about it...to me my furniture is pretty important and the cats not going to get out and i have two small dogs and i dont want the dogs to get messed up by the cat...my sister recently had to sped 400+ on her dog cause a cat scratched its eye
I like this guy,he has a good job & personality but I just don't respect that he earns double than me and is 45 with no house or no assets, his house has all this old furniture and I'm not comfortable at his place, I don't feel relaxed, then he waits until 1 month into it to tell me he does't like cats, my cat has been with me for years and he knew that when we met. Im trying to find stuff we have in common but am struggling...
