I have a cat that's almost a year old (so I guess really a kitten still). He is constantly jumping up on the table, counters and other places where he doesn't belong. He know he doesn't belong there either because as soon as some walks into the room he jumps down. I'm going to have a baby in a couple of months and I recently found him in the crib. He also scratches the furniture. I don't know what to do with him. I've tried using double sided sticky tape on areas I don't want him, I've tried spraying him with water when he does something bad. If he doesn't learn to behave I may have to get rid of him because I don't want to worry if he will suffocate the baby or not by jumping in the crib or bassinet. I love my cat, and he is a member of the family, what can I do?
He also eats and drinks out of dishes and cups if we aren't watching him.

He said he wanted a pet so we got a cat. I was so excited and he seemed to be really happy too. Then the cat started clawing the furniture and my husband completely changed. He ignores me now and leaves the room whenever I bring the cat in. This went on for a week and he has just said that he wants me to get the cat declawed because it is ruining the sofa and chairs that he paid for. I started crying and begging, but all he said was that he's going to divorce me if I don't get the cat declawed. Why did he change like this? What can I do? Should I just get the cat declawed and hope he turns back into the wonderful man I married? Please answer!

I am looking to move into an apartment in the next few weeks that may have had cats in it. I am very allergic to cats. All of the furniture has been removed and the carpet has been vacuumed several times and shampooed. We are also adding a HEPA allergen furnace filter. Will this be enough to avoid any problems?

She uses her litter box to do #2, but hides under my coffee table when I'm not watching to pee. I have a basement suite in my parent's house and they want me to get rid of of her. She is my 5 year old son's cat, we've had her for almost 3 years. She started a while ago, but only sometimes. Now it's every time she has to go. Help. I don't want to have to give her away.

My kitten lives at my boyfriends flat and i've never trained her to use a scratching post because the furniture is so old it's never been a problem. However, we're going to Turkey for two weeks in August and my kitten is going to stay at my parents in their newly decorated living room.....

I do have a scratching post, so i was just wondering what's the best way to go about training her to use it? As my two older cats will not be leaving the flat when we go away (we've got someone lookin after the flat whilst we're away) i'll only be training the kitten. She's only 6 months old, so will it be difficult to train her?

Any advice and tips will be much appreciated!

First off, if your just going to answer something like 'eww' or 'youll never get rid of them' or some dumb answer like that, for gods sake. I need a real answer not someone being retarded.

They werent that bad. I am allergic to fleas, so when i saw one on her i flipped. She has been on frontline for atleast 3 months now. But when i noticed i broke out alittle i knew they were in the house. Im not infested. I shampooed the entire house, (moved all furniture, EVERYTHING, vacummed EVERYTHING shampooed and vacummed furniture) im in the process of cleaning all of our clothing. I gave her a flea bath and locked her in the bathroom until we were done. But she is biting again. I figured i wouldnt get rid of all of them, but... did i really do ALL that work for nothing? I mean i worked my butt off. I did everything anyone ever suggested. I srinkled stuff on the carpet to kill them. I put lavender in the furniture. I put lavender scents around the house. Please help. ANY suggestions help. I really hope i atleast helped the problem.
