I have 2 male dogs and 3 cats( 2 are male). I have had all pets for quite some time and they are all fixed. I recently purchased a new ottoman( the one male cat thinks I bought it for him) and have noticed one of them are either spraying or peeing on it. The corners are soaked and some of the carpet also. This is happening everyday when i come home from work and sometimes when i wake in the morning. The one dog I believed it to be ( loves to mark when on walk) had its urine checked and came back negative. I tried to video tape while at work but the tape did not last all day...my question is how much spray does come out when a cat marks? is it enough to soak the furniture and the carpet? the smell is bad...any ideas..
oh and i did spray using a cat/dog deterrent and that only worked for a couple days

Dilemma Cat vs Girlfriend vs Girlfriends Mother help?
My girlfriend and I have been dating for a year now. Moving in together and marriage has been talked about now. Herein lies the problem. My girlfriend wants me to get rid of my two cats because if I were to keep them, her mother could never come over due to her severe allergies to cat dander. I personally would be hurt if I got rid of them because I adopted Bruce 4 yrs ago and we are attached at the hip. My siamese Lexi was adopted from my sister because her husband pressured her to get rid of all her pets. I just don't believe in throwing pets away or whatever like they are furniture, I wasn't raised like that. Plus I think that its just not fair to have adopt a dog or cat, give them a nice home and life, and then suddenly throw them back to where they were before. So I am in a dilemma. I mean to some people, they would say- its not a dilemma, the cats just have to go. But they don't realize how much your pet is a part of your life. I don't plan on getting rid of them nor do I plan on breaking up with my gf. I think there is a way this can be worked out (i.e, mom just doesn't visit and we go to her place).
Have any of you ever experienced this and how did you deal with it?

I'm like her; I hate it too. But I know it's more practical. She seems upset, anxious, and restless. I'm giving her love and attention, but it's not helping. How can I lessen her distress?

My almost 2 year old cat won't stop peeing on the living room chair. We got some spray with enzyme in it and now shes pawing at it. Does that mean shes trying to pee on it again? PLEASE HELP! I'm about at wits end with this peeing on stuff issue! She has begun peeing on my 17 month olds things and also our clean clothes. We change her litter weekly and scoop everyday. She always has a fresh supply of food and water. I don't know whats going on and can't really afford a vet atm.
yeah its prolly a few months old. she only peed once before that. when i was in the hospital after having my son she peed on my side of the bed. we were gone a few days. but this peeing on the chair clothes and my sons things is pretty recent
